Inchworms I and II
These works don't represent anything we have seen before, but reveal images that call for associations in the observer or perhaps a fantasy of what else could have been or where it would lead.
Inchworm I with its five repeated similar sections, directly includes the floor as an aspect its design.
Inchworm II is flowing down to the floor indoors or outdoors, with two sections hanging and three on the ground.
Two years later in 1978 the knotted rubber tubes, each plugged with a cork, allowed the work to float on a pond at Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
